The MAVES area has an extraordinary variety of invaluable habitats for wintering and breeding birds; from birds of the ancient woodlands and hedgerows, to birds of arable farmland, to birds of the open Arundel watermeadow pastures.

Surveying these birds and understanding the value of our habitats for them is very far from a matter of an expert coming and making a count in one place on one day! We welcome all sightings by experienced bird spotters, with date and location and, where you can, a photograph is ideal.
